Witchcraft: Wiccan Spells

Witchcraft Wiccan spells are drawn from a variety of sources.

One slight problem with Witchcraft Wiccan spells is that we don't know what witchcraft is. You might know; I might know; he, she or they might know; but WE don't. There is no consensus, least of all among those who claim to practice it.

One person's witchcraft Wiccan spells might be another person's travesty and abomination, or even worse, some fluffy-bunny nonsense with no more hope of working than a perpetual motion machine. Witchcraft Wiccan spells vary so widely that it is difficult to come up with a book of witchcraft Wiccan spells that even a decent percentage of practicing Wiccan witches would accept as genuine.

It's not uncommon for Witches and/or Wiccans to wax exceeding wrath about the common tendency to use the two W-words synonymously. To refer to "witchcraft Wiccan spells" is to immediately mark oneself as an outsider. A relatively rare term in the exoteric world until the 1990s, “Wicca” now crops up all over the place, frequently used to describe what used more commonly to be called in the media "white Witchcraft".

At times, though, "Wicca" is pushed to breaking point. In the generally splendiferous Buffy the Vampire Slayer television show, for example, when the lovely Willow Rosenberg gets all Witchy on us she is frequently referred to as "a Wicca", regardless of the fact that beyond spellcasting she shares practically none of the beliefs or practices we normally associate with Wicca.

Before seeking out witchcraft Wiccan spells, first seek out a Witch or a Wiccan, and acquaint yourself with the differences between the two!

The biggest Witchy complaint against witchcraft Wiccan spells in spell books or online is that the witchcraft Wiccan spells don't (or possibly can't) work. The sitchcraft Wiccan spells look comparable to a recipe, but whereas Delia Smith can reliably lead most of us through the creation of an omelette, the compiler of the witchcraft Wiccan spells is less likely to guide the average punter to health, wealth and insuperable sexual charisma.

Witchcraft is a discipline and a skill, much like musicianship, and written witchcraft or Wiccan spells are about as much use to the uninitiated as sheet music is to the untrained individual when he or she first picks up their uncle's guitar.
